Dryden Architecture and Design
Location: Dickerson Pike
As the conversations around Parking Day began, our office considered how we could use the event to give back to areas in the community often left out of the spotlight. We partnered with DRKMTTR on Dickerson Pike, an all-ages music venue, who has donated their space to a grassroots effort called the Nashville Free Store and Nashville Community Fridge. The Free store provides food, household goods, and other donated items to all who come each Saturday. With our Parklette, we aimed to provide shelter and shade for shoppers, a platform for information, signage, and a home for the 24-hour-accessible community fridge.
This Parklette was made possible thanks to the donations and contributions of many fellow creatives in the Nashville community. We hope it shines a spotlight on the worthy cause and efforts of the Free Store, and that it continues to serve those in the community who need it. DRKMTTR takes donations every Friday from 3-6pm at 1111 Dickerson Pike.
