We Want You to
Work With Us
We work across sectors to consult on civic design projects in Middle Tennessee. We may help with project management, community engagement, design visioning, advocacy or all of the above.
What best represents you?
-
When a Council Member or other local representative flags an issue that they are hearing from their constituents, they may approach us to help investigate and advocate for solutions. We can also help craft legislation with a Council Member for an issue with which we have unique expertise.
-
Building trust between the community and local government is critical. We can act as a liaison between community members and the appropriate stakeholders to ensure that community ideas are heard and supported. Community engagement takes on a more hopeful and open-minded tone when we are consulting on a project.
-
We can host different styles of engagement with a neighborhood group to explore community interests and ultimately gain holistic consensus. Neighborhood groups are organized enough to raise funds so we can work directly with community members rather than just a representative.
-
We create partnerships with issue-specific and area-specific non-profits to help amplify a specific issue through design visioning. On the other hand, we can also help approach a solution from a broader planning angle that may not be familiar for other organizations.
-
If you are an architect or designer on a local project, we would be happy to consult with your team to facilitate community engagement. We can pull information from historic design visions that may help shape the identity of a project, while amplifying community voices.
-
We have consulted with many developers to facilitate community engagement opportunities so that everyone invested in the neighborhood walks away feeling heard and satisfied with design goals for the project.
Design Toolkit
Use our Design Toolkit to learn more about our process working across sectors to implement civic design projects. If communities have the capacity to use our process to create change from within, we don’t necessarily need to be a part of the project, but we have over two decades of experience doing it effectively.
Feature Projects
While the Design Visioning process is always the most exciting to look at, this cannot happen in a silo. We put Community Engagement at the forefront of every project we work on. By checking out our feature projects, you will get a good idea of how we work with our partners.
