Connecting and Visioning Public Spaces
The primary goal is to create a vision and community-centered plan for the Looby Park and Community Center, including the surrounding community assets, including schools and parks (exact project scope to be determined). This is a key focus because the community center and area are in need for thoughtful and careful planning as the area continues to experience changes and development. This project will consider not only the community voices, but will also envision and plan for an enhanced area in the Buena Vista, Metrocenter, and surrounding neighborhoods.
A Steering Committee for this project is comprised of local leaders who are vital to our decision-making processes. Composed of key stakeholders, this group serves as an advisory body that guides and influences the strategic direction of the Looby Campus Vision project. The committee consists of Council Member Kyonzte Toombs, Metro Parks, Nashville Public Library, John Early Middle School, Hull-Jackson Elementary School, and the Tennessee Titans 'ONE Community' program.
This project supports our Guiding Principles for Park and Greenway Systems, Neighborhood Identity, and Community Involvement. Check out the Guiding Principles to learn more about our goals.
