20th Anniversary Annual Luncheon

Official Event Update (as of 10/19)

The Anniversary event is making a big shift to “hybrid with a twist!” We have been monitoring public safety concerns, and we want to bring you the best experience possible. Which is why we have decided to bring the program to everyone virtually and host an additional event on the same day in an indoor/outdoor open environment for a celebratory social gathering.

Scroll down for the official program.

Make it stand out

It's our biggest celebration yet.

Urban design can only truly be "civic" when it involves the voices of the people within the community.

At our 20th Anniversary Annual Luncheon, we will discuss the history of our collective impact within the Nashville community. We are inviting back local leaders who were pivotal figures in the Civic Design Center's establishment. Those leaders will reflect on how they became civic advocates in the planning and urban design of Nashville's urban core that represented the community's visions. We immortalized those visions through the release of The Plan of Nashville in 2005 and numerous publications thereafter.

Since the release of The Plan of Nashville, our impact greatly expanded beyond the urban core due to the connections we created with community stakeholders across neighborhoods in varying industries. If you are living within a community, your ideas are important to us. We have brought those ideas to life through design, and it takes work to make them a reality.

20 years is just a moment in time when considering the dedication that goes into systemic change. Ensuring that our home in Nashville represents the people's unique identities can be an example for planning and design all around the nation.

We hope you will celebrate our efforts for "civic" design and join us in improving quality of life for all over the next 20 years.
