The
Edgehill Gentrification Project In recent years, dramatic changes have taken place in Nashville's Edgehill neighborhood with respect to the income of new homebuyers, changes in home sale prices, and the ethnic/racial makeup of the neighborhood. This month's Urban Design Forum will have Vanderbilt Law School Professor Laurie Hauber of the Community Economic Development Clinic present a study of "gentrification mitigation" strategies for Edgehill. The time is ripe for the community to assert itself in the development process to prevent widespread displacement of lower income households. Significant community involvement can help achieve the goals articulated in the Edgehill Detailed Neighborhood Design Plan http://nashville.gov/mpc/subarea/subarea10.htm> of creating a mixed income community while preserving Edgehill's varied affordable housing stock. Please join us for a discussion of this topic, which reverberates throughout Nashville's inner ring neighborhoods. WATCH THIS FORUM ONLINE NOW!
